Xi-Trump Meeting Highlights China’s Red Lines and Protest Plans

Xi Jinping is preparing to meet Donald Trump in Washington.

China says there are four topics the United States should not challenge.

These include Taiwan, human rights, China’s political system and China’s right to develop.

China’s ambassador also criticized some American arguments about national security and forced labor.

Groups that oppose China’s policies plan peaceful protests during the visit.

They are concerned about Tibetans, Uyghurs, Hong Kong activists and Chinese dissidents.

Earlier visits by Xi also included protests and sometimes confrontations between opposing groups.

The meeting is expected to cover economic and security issues as well as Taiwan and human rights.
