Engineer Arrested, Assets Confiscated in Odisha Vigilance Cases
Imagine a government engineer named Surendra who was supposed to be building things, but was also secretly collecting lots of money and property he shouldn't have.
The police, called Vigilance, found he had a lot more than he should, so they arrested him.
They searched his houses and found buildings, flats, and plots of land.
Another person, Swarnalata Pradhan, is also in trouble because of her late husband who was also accused of having extra money.
The court is taking away their extra assets because they got them unfairly.
Odisha Vigilance arrested Surendra Behera, a Superintending Engineer, in a Disproportionate Assets (DA) case.
Searches were conducted at eight locations linked to Behera in multiple cities.
Assets found include buildings, flats, and plots of land.
