Govt. Addresses Farmer Concerns in Tamil Nadu After Heavy Rains

Heavy rains damaged crops, especially paddy, in Tamil Nadu.

The government is responding by buying the crops at good prices and offering financial help to farmers.

The Union Agricultural Minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, visited the area to talk to farmers and see what help they needed.

He said the government is working hard to help farmers and encouraging them to use natural farming methods.

The government is also looking into a new problem where coconut trees are being attacked by pests and is sending scientists to help.

Farmers affected by the rains are covered under Fasal Bhima Yojana and will receive compensation.
