Bomb Threats Evacuate Schools and Government Buildings
On Wednesday and Thursday, many schools and government buildings in Chandigarh, Gurugram, and Delhi, India, got scary emails saying there might be bombs.
The schools and buildings quickly called the police, and the police sent special teams to check the places.
They also told students and workers not to go to these places that day.
The police and special teams are still checking the schools and buildings to make sure everything is safe.
So far, they haven't found anything dangerous, but they are still being very careful.
This has happened before in other cities, and those threats were fake.
The police are trying to find out where these emails came from.
26 schools in Chandigarh and 6 schools in Gurugram received bomb threat emails on Wednesday morning, January 28, 2026.
On Thursday, January 29, 2026, the Punjab Civil Secretariat and Municipal Bhawan in Chandigarh also received bomb threat emails.
Schools and government buildings evacuated students and workers, with police, bomb disposal squads, dog squads, SDRF teams, and fire brigade responding to the threats.
No suspicious objects have been found, but the situation is being closely monitored, and cyber teams are examining the source of the emails.
Similar bomb threats were reported earlier in Delhi and other cities in Punjab and Haryana, which were later confirmed as hoaxes.
