Commodore Sarvdeep Singh Dhody Takes Command of INS Kalinga

This story is about a big change at an important Indian Navy base near the city of Visakhapatnam.

A naval base is a home for navy ships and the people who take care of them.

The person in charge of this base is called the Station Commander.

A senior officer named Commodore Sarvdeep Singh Dhody became the new leader of the base on August 10.

He took over from Commodore Anirudha Roy during a formal ceremony called a Change of Command.

Commodore Dhody joined the Indian Navy back in July 1998, working as an electrical engineer.

Over the years, he served on ships like INS Kirch and INS Brahmaputra and worked at navy dockyards in Mumbai and Visakhapatnam.

He also studied at well-known Indian universities, including IIT Delhi and Osmania University.

As the new commander, he will look after the base's readiness, administration, and daily running.

Military bases hold these ceremonies so a new leader can officially take charge of the team.
