Sukhbir Badal Attacks Waris Punjab De Ahead of 2027 Polls
Sukhbir Singh Badal leads the Shiromani Akali Dal in Punjab.
He criticized a group called Waris Punjab De and its jailed leader, Amritpal Singh.
Badal said the group should be called “Virus Punjab De” because he believes it could create danger and division.
He accused Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and the Aam Aadmi Party of supporting the group to split Sikh political votes.
Badal also said the group talks loudly about Khalistan but did not show enough courage during a police operation.
He criticized Amritpal’s earlier campaign against drugs, calling its later direction political drama.
Badal compared Amritpal with his father, Parkash Singh Badal, whom he said accepted arrest while fighting for public causes.
The remarks were made as parties prepare for Punjab’s 2027 assembly election.
Sukhbir Singh Badal called Akali Dal (Waris Punjab De) “Virus Punjab De” and criticized jailed MP Amritpal Singh.
Badal alleged that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and the Aam Aadmi Party support the outfit to divide Panthic votes and weaken the Shiromani Akali Dal.
He accused Waris Punjab De leaders of making strong Khalistan-related claims while lacking courage during police action.
Badal linked Amritpal Singh’s earlier anti-drug campaign to what he called subsequent “political drama.”
Badal also alleged custodial torture, pressure on the family of suicide victim Gulzar Singh, and misuse of state resources by the AAP government.
