IFC Poised to Profit from Tata Capital's $2 Billion IPO
Tata Capital, a financial company, is planning to sell stock to the public (IPO).
The International Finance Corporation (IFC), a part of the World Bank, invested in Tata Capital years ago.
Now, IFC will sell some of its shares in the IPO and potentially make a large profit.
This is happening because of a requirement from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
The money raised will help Tata Capital lend more money.
IFC initially invested at around ₹25 per share, and the stake is now worth around ₹343 per share based on the rights issue.
IFC is set to profit from Tata Capital's upcoming IPO.
IFC will sell 3.58 crore shares in the offering.
The IPO is valued at USD 2 billion (Rs 17,000 crore).
The IPO is expected in the first half of October, following an RBI extension.
