DRI Seizes Gold Hidden on Luggage Trolleys in Smuggling Probe

The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence, or DRI, seized gold worth Rs 1.8 crore.

The gold weighed 1.3 kilograms and was in biscuit-shaped pieces.

Officials say two accused brought it from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

They allegedly stuck the gold to luggage trolleys.

Passengers may have picked up those trolleys without knowing gold was attached.

The accused allegedly followed the passengers through customs and later took the gold back.

The DRI acted on intelligence information.

It is now investigating who was involved and how the scheme worked.
