2012 “Stop ChatGPT” Post Sparks Time-Travel Theories

2012 “Stop ChatGPT” Post Sparks Time-Travel Theories

People found an old social-media message that said, “Stop chat gpt!”

The message was dated October 2012.

ChatGPT was not launched until 2022, so many people joked that the writer traveled through time.

Some users also created conspiracy theories about secret technology.

A simpler explanation is that “gpt” may have been Indonesian slang.

In that explanation, it means “ga penting,” or something pointless or unimportant.

The message could therefore have meant “stop sending me useless texts.”

Other posts from the same account mentioned spam and used “gpt” in ordinary conversations.

However, the owner did not explain the message, so its exact meaning is still uncertain.
