Centre Releases Rs 44,544 Crore in Capex Loans to States in FY27
The Indian government has given states Rs 44,544 crore in loans to help them build things like roads, trains, and water supplies.
This is almost 50% more than last year.
The money comes from a special plan called SASCI, which started during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The plan has grown a lot since then.
States can use this money for important projects.
The government has set aside Rs 2 lakh crore for this in the current financial year.
States that spend more on building things can get extra money.
The Centre has released Rs 44,544 crore in interest-free capex loans to states by July 15 of FY27.
This amount is nearly 50% more than the same period last year.
The funds are part of the Scheme for Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI).
The scheme supports infrastructure projects like railways, highways, metro rail, power, and water supply.
States that achieve more than 10% growth in capital expenditure can receive additional funding.
