Jalgaon, India Zone Reaches 100 MW Solar Capacity
Jalgaon, India, has become the second area in Maharashtra to generate more than 100 MW of solar power from rooftop installations.
This success is due to the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Yojana, a government program that helps people install solar panels on their roofs.
Under this program, families can get free electricity if they use less than 300 units per month and sell any extra power back to the grid.
The government is also offering subsidies and easy loans to help people afford the solar panels, leading to a surge in participation.
This program provides consumers with almost free electricity, potentially for 25 years.
Jalgaon zone, Maharashtra, has surpassed 100 MW of solar capacity.
The capacity was achieved through rooftop solar installations under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Yojana.
The scheme aims to provide free or subsidized electricity to consumers using up to 300 units.
Consumers are eligible for subsidies, and simplified loan processes are available.
Over 34,000 customers in the circle have already taken advantage of the scheme.
