Floods and landslides in Nepal have made travel and communication difficult.

Eight people from Bengaluru are reported missing or stranded.

Four of them were pilgrims traveling for the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra.

The four pilgrims live in the United States and had reportedly visited the Chinese Embassy on August 26.

Karnataka officials say they have received no report of a Karnataka resident dying.

Officials have contacted two other Karnataka residents who were stranded.

The state is sending an officer to Kathmandu and working with other authorities to find the missing people.
