Bank Confiscates Ex-TMC Councillor’s Birbhum Property Over Loan Default

A private bank took control of a former politician’s house and land in Birbhum.

The bank said he had taken a loan of Rs 3 crore.

It said he did not keep up with the payments.

The bank went to court and received permission to attach the property.

Police, bank officials and lawyers were present during the action.

Banamali Ghosh disagreed with the bank’s account.

He said middlemen took Rs 40 lakh from him after the loan was given.

He also said he had been paying installments and asked for more time.

The property takeover was peaceful but caused a political dispute.
