Telangana Police Allow FIRs at Homes
Normally, when someone reports a crime, they have to go to the police station to file a report called an FIR.
But in Telangana, India, the police have started a new rule.
Now, in some special cases, police can come to the person's home to file the report.
This is the first time this is happening in the country.
It's to make things easier for people who might find it hard to go to the police station.
The police think this will help more people feel safe and comfortable when reporting crimes.
Telangana police now allow FIRs to be registered at victims' homes in certain sensitive cases.
This is the first initiative of its kind in the country.
Normally, FIRs are registered at police stations with the complainant present.
The new procedure is part of a 'citizen-centric, on-site registration of FIRs' initiative.
The change aims to make the process more accessible and comfortable for victims.
