Telangana Adds 54 Lakh Voters After Special Intensive Revision
Telangana is checking its voter lists in a process called a Special Intensive Revision.
Officials sent notices to about 92 lakh voters because some records had problems or were not linked to older rolls.
So far, about 54 lakh of those voters have been added to the main voter list.
Officials are still collecting documents from nearly 40 lakh people.
People who moved away or died may not be added.
Booth Level Officers will visit voters at home to collect their documents.
Most voters will not need to attend an office hearing.
If a hearing is needed, it can usually happen online, and an adult family member may represent the voter.
About 54 lakh of the 92 lakh voters issued notices during Telangana’s Special Intensive Revision have been included in the main electoral roll.
The notice process began after the draft electoral roll was published on August 17 and will continue through November 5.
Officials said documents from nearly 40 lakh remaining voters will be collected and processed, except for people who have migrated or died.
Booth Level Officers must visit voters, collect documents and upload them to ECI Net for review by registration officials.
Hearings are generally unnecessary, but exceptional hearings may be held online, with authorised adult family members allowed to attend.
