Sun TV Network Reports 13% Profit Dip Amidst Rising Expenses Despite Revenue Growth
Imagine Sun TV Network is like a company that makes TV shows and runs TV channels.
In the last three months, they made a lot more money from selling things and subscriptions, which is great!
But, it also cost them a lot more money to run everything, like paying for new shows or equipment.
Because the costs went up so much, even though they made more money overall, the profit they kept for themselves went down a little bit.
They also bought a new cricket team in the UK.
The company decided to give some of their profits back to the people who own parts of the company, called shareholders.
Sun TV Network's consolidated revenue for Q2 FY26 rose by 40% to ₹1,300 crore, compared to ₹935 crore in the same period last year.
Consolidated net profit decreased by 13% to ₹355 crore, down from ₹409 crore in Q2 FY25, due to a significant increase in expenses.
Total expenses increased from ₹595 crore in Q2 FY25 to ₹925 crore in Q2 FY26.
The company acquired a 100% stake in SunRisers Leeds Limited, a UK cricket league franchise, during the quarter.
Sun TV Network's Board of Directors declared an interim dividend of ₹3.75 per share.
