Pawan Kalyan Unveils Andhra Green Wall Plan
Pawan Kalyan, the Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, has introduced a big plan called the Great Green Wall.
This plan aims to create a wide green belt along the state's coastline by 2030.
The green belt will be 5 kilometers wide and will help protect the coast from storms, rising sea levels, and erosion.
It will also support local wildlife and jobs.
The plan includes planting special trees that can grow well in salty conditions, like mangroves and casuarina trees.
This idea is inspired by a similar project in Africa.
Many important officials attended a meeting to discuss how to make this plan a success.
Pawan Kalyan unveiled the Great Green Wall of Andhra Pradesh to achieve 50% green cover by 2030.
The initiative aims to create a 5-kilometer-wide green belt along Andhra Pradesh’s 1,034-kilometer coastline.
The green belt will serve as a living ecological shield against cyclones, rising sea levels, and erosion.
The plan prioritizes mangrove forests, casuarina plantations, and other salt-tolerant tree species.
The project draws inspiration from Africa’s Great Green Wall and aims to enhance biodiversity and support local livelihoods.
