SBI Increases Auto-Sweep Limit to Enhance Savings Benefits
Imagine you have money in your savings account.
SBI now has a new rule.
If your account has more than Rs 50,000, any extra money gets moved to a special account that earns more interest.
This is like putting money in a fixed deposit.
If you need the money, you can take it back, but you might have to pay a small fee.
This change means more of your money can earn higher interest, helping your savings grow faster.
SBI raised the minimum threshold for the auto sweep facility in Savings Bank accounts.
The threshold increased from Rs 35,000 to Rs 50,000.
The change impacts the Multi Option Deposit (MOD) facility.
Extra money above the threshold is transferred to an MOD.
MODs earn fixed deposit interest rates, which are higher than normal savings account rates.
