Rajasthan Students Protest Teacher Shortage; Inquiry Ordered After Viral Claim

Rajasthan Students Protest Teacher Shortage; Inquiry Ordered After Viral Claim

Students at a government school in Rajasthan were unhappy because their school did not have enough teachers.

Lots of their subject teachers were missing, and the students said this was hurting their studies.

To show how upset they were, they locked the school's main gate and sat outside in protest.

A video started spreading online that claimed school helpers, called peons, were teaching classes instead of real teachers.

School officials said this claim was completely false and started an inquiry to check what was true.

A government minister also asked officials to visit the school and look into the problem.

After talks, the officials, teachers, villagers and students came to an agreement.

The school promised to bring in a mathematics teacher, two lecturers and a Hindi teacher.

The students then opened the gate and normal classes resumed.
