US Approves Nvidia AI Chip Sales to China
The US government has decided to let Nvidia sell its H200 AI chips to China.
President Trump said that China's President Xi Jinping was okay with this.
The US will charge a 25% fee on these sales.
This is a change from the previous rules, which were stricter.
Some people are happy because it helps American companies, but others are worried because they think China might use these chips for the military.
Nvidia and other companies like AMD and Intel will also follow these new rules.
US allows Nvidia to sell H200 AI chips to approved customers in China and other nations.
A 25% fee will be charged on these sales, collected as an import tax from Taiwan.
The decision aims to support American jobs, strengthen domestic manufacturing, and benefit American taxpayers.
China's President Xi Jinping responded positively to the announcement.
The move marks a shift from the Biden administration's stricter export controls on advanced AI chips.
