Taslima Nasrin returns to Kolkata after 19-year exile

Taslima Nasrin is a writer who was born in Bangladesh and had to leave her home because people were angry about her writings.

She had visited Kolkata, a big city in India, many times and published her books there, but in 2007 she was forced to leave that city too.

For nearly nineteen years, she could not come back.

At the end of July, she finally returned, and many people welcomed her at the airport and at special events.

She said it felt like she got her life back.

Nasrin speaks for women's freedom and says anyone who believes in equality can be called a feminist.

She also shared worries about Bangladesh and said writers must be free to express their ideas.

After five days of book signings and cultural visits, she left Kolkata on August 5.
