PGI operationalises hospital information system at Sangrur
The Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) in Chandigarh has started using a new computer system called HIS at its Sangrur Satellite Centre.
This system helps the hospital work better and make things easier for patients.
The director, Prof Vivek Lal, said this is a big step in making all PGIMER hospitals use the same digital system.
This will help patients get better care no matter which PGIMER hospital they visit.
PGIMER Chandigarh has operationalised its Hospital Information System (HIS) at the Sangrur Satellite Centre starting January 1, 2026.
The system aims to enhance efficiency, transparency, and patient convenience.
Prof Vivek Lal, Director of PGIMER, highlighted the importance of this initiative in the institute’s digital health journey.
The digital framework will be strengthened and replicated at PGI Chandigarh for uniform service delivery.
This milestone marks a significant step towards comprehensive digitisation of hospital services at PGIMER.
