Rain forecast across Bihar as 20 districts face orange alert
Rain is expected in every district of Bihar on Friday.
Twenty districts have received an orange alert, which means people should be especially careful.
The other 18 districts have received a yellow alert.
Some places, especially in North Bihar, could get heavy rain and strong winds.
People have been asked to follow safety advice and watch the weather.
Bihar has received less rain than usual during this monsoon season.
This has made it harder for farmers to protect their paddy crops.
Farmers can receive a diesel subsidy to help pay for irrigation using diesel pumps.
Rainfall has been forecast across all 38 districts of Bihar on Friday, when Raksha Bandhan will be celebrated.
The Meteorological Department issued orange alerts for 20 districts, including Patna, and yellow alerts for the remaining 18.
Heavy rain is possible at isolated locations, especially in North Bihar, with strong winds potentially accompanying showers.
Temperatures are expected to remain between 28 and 34 degrees Celsius, with humidity around 93 per cent.
Below-normal monsoon activity and rainfall deficits are raising concerns for paddy crops, while farmers can apply for diesel irrigation subsidies.
