ICE to Open National Call Centre for Tracking Unaccompanied Migrant Children
Imagine a special phone number that police and government workers can call if they need to find children who have come to the country alone.
The U.S. government is setting up a big call center in a city called Nashville.
This center will answer lots of calls every day.
The calls will be about finding these kids so the government can decide if they need to send them back to their home countries.
They want this special phone service to be ready to help by the summer of 2026.
ICE plans to establish a National Call Centre in Nashville, Tennessee.
The call centre's purpose is to help locate unaccompanied migrant children for potential deportation.
The facility is expected to handle 6,000 to 7,000 calls daily.
ICE stated there is an 'immediate need' for this service.
The call centre is projected to be fully operational by June 2026.
