Romania Sets Guinness Record With Table Funding Children’s Psychiatry Hospital
About 20,000 people in Bucharest gathered around one very long table.
The table was 5,055 metres long, or about 3.1 miles.
Guinness World Records said it was the longest table made from recycled materials.
The event also raised money for a new hospital for children with serious mental health conditions.
The hospital will be built within the Obregia Hospital complex.
Organizers say the current clinic is old, crowded, and has 62 beds.
The new five-level building will include treatment, therapy, educational, and relaxation spaces.
It will also have a section for teenagers needing addiction treatment.
The project is expected to cost 16.5 million euros and finish by 2027.
