Court Again Rejects Bail in Ankita Bhandari Murder Case

A court in Dehradun again refused to let the accused in Ankita Bhandari’s murder case leave jail on bail.

The articles also say the accused were convicted and sentenced to life in prison.

The state government says the accused were jailed within 24 hours after the incident became known.

It formed an SIT to investigate the case and used the Gangsters Act.

Investigators prepared a chargesheet of about 500 pages with statements from nearly 100 witnesses.

Ankita’s parents asked for different government lawyers and a CBI investigation.

The government says it agreed to those requests and helped the family with money and jobs.

Congress and other groups continued asking questions about a possible VIP connection, while the government said evidence should be presented to investigators or the court.
