Home Loan Scheme for Middle-Income Group Explained
The government has a special program called Credit-Linked Subsidy Scheme to help people in the middle-income group buy or build houses.
If you make between ₹6 lakhs and ₹18 lakhs a year, you might be eligible.
The government helps pay some of your home loan interest.
The amount of help depends on how much you earn.
To get this help, you need to apply through a bank and show documents like your ID and income proof.
You can't already own a house and must not have used another government housing scheme before.
This is a good way to make housing more affordable for the middle class.
The Credit-Linked Subsidy Scheme (CLSS) provides interest subsidies on home loans for Middle Income Groups (MIG).
MIG-I households (₹6-12 lakhs annual income) receive a 4% interest subsidy; MIG-II (₹12-18 lakhs) get 3%.
The scheme applies to loans from banks and Housing Finance Companies (HFCs) for buying or building homes.
Eligibility requires no existing all-weather dwelling unit and no prior central housing scheme benefits.
Applicants must apply through participating banks with required documents such as Aadhaar and PAN.
