Aadhaar Services Expanded in UP and Delhi
The Uttar Pradesh government has started a new service called Aadhaar in some village councils, or Gram Panchayats.
This service helps people get their Aadhaar cards and other related services right in their villages.
More than 40 people have already used this service, which saves them time and money they would have spent traveling to cities.
The government plans to start this service in 1,000 village councils first and then in all 57,694 village councils in the state.
They are also training village assistants to help with this service.
The goal is to make life easier for villagers and to make the village councils more self-sufficient.
In Delhi, the Chief Minister inaugurated a new Aadhaar Seva Kendra at the Azadpur metro station.
This center provides services like new Aadhaar enrolments, biometric updates, and address changes.
The Delhi government is also setting up more such centers to make it easier for people to access these services.
They have already helped nearly two lakh children in government schools get their Aadhaar cards.
Aadhaar services were launched in two Gram Panchayats in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, with more than 40 rural citizens already availing the services.
The initiative aims to provide easy, transparent, and accessible Aadhaar services at the panchayat level, with plans to extend to 1,000 Gram Panchayats in the first phase and eventually to all 57,694 Gram Panchayats in the state.
Over 800 Panchayat Assistants have been trained to implement the scheme effectively in Uttar Pradesh.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta inaugurated a new Aadhaar Seva Kendra at the Azadpur metro station, part of an effort to expand such facilities in the national capital.
The Delhi government has granted approval for setting up eight new Aadhaar Seva Kendras, with five inaugurated simultaneously, aiming to strengthen transparent governance and improve access to public services.
