India's Fertilizer Production Increases, Secures Long-Term Supplies
India has significantly increased its production of fertilizers like urea and DAP over the past decade.
The government has worked hard to make sure farmers have enough fertilizers by making deals with other countries to buy it and bring it to India.
As a result, there's been a big increase in the amount of fertilizers being made in the country and it's easily available for farmers.
India's efforts ensure the country's ability to feed its people without any problem.
Urea production increased by 35% from 2013-14 to 2024-25, reaching 306.67 LMT.
DAP and NPKS fertilizer production rose by 44% during the same period, reaching 158.78 LMT.
The government has secured an arrangement for 25 LMT of DAP and TSP with Morocco.
A long-term agreement with Saudi Arabia ensures an annual supply of 31 LMT of DAP from 2025-26.
Fertilizer availability remains comfortable during the ongoing Kharif 2025 season.
