Made-in-India Cars Drive Suzuki’s Japan Imports, Global Production

Maruti Suzuki makes cars in India for customers in Japan.

These cars include the Fronx, Jimny 5-door and e-Vitara.

More than 100,000 of these vehicles have been sent to Japan.

The Fronx started going to Japan in August 2024.

The Jimny 5-door followed in December 2024.

The electric e-Vitara began exports in September 2025.

Because of these exports, Suzuki became Japan’s biggest car importer in FY26.

Maruti Suzuki now provides nearly two thirds of Suzuki’s worldwide production.

This shows that cars made in India are being accepted in Japan’s demanding automobile market.
