Sterlite Group's Demerger Creates Integrated Power Solutions
The Sterlite Group has split its business into three parts: Sterlite Electric, Resonia, and Serentica Renewables.
Sterlite Electric makes things like cables and equipment for power transmission.
Resonia builds and runs big power lines and other infrastructure.
Serentica Renewables focuses on clean energy, like solar and wind power, and wants to help industries reduce their carbon footprint.
The group's leader, Pratik Agarwal, says this setup helps each part of the business work better and faster.
Serentica has big plans to build more solar and wind farms, and the group wants to invest a lot of money in power transmission by 2032.
They also think India can be a big player in the global clean energy market by connecting different countries with power lines and creating rules for trading clean energy.
Sterlite Group demerged into Sterlite Electric, Resonia, and Serentica Renewables to focus on transmission, infrastructure, and clean energy respectively.
Serentica Renewables aims to install 1,500 MWp of solar, 1,100 MW of wind, and 1,000 MWh of BESS by FY27, with a capex of ₹15,500 crore.
FY28 targets include 1,800 MWp of solar, 1,250 MW of wind, and 1,250 MWh of BESS, requiring ₹17,000 crore in investment.
Resonia plans to invest around ₹1 lakh crore in transmission assets by FY32, aiming for annual portfolio additions of ₹10,000–15,000 crore.
The group envisions India as a global leader in clean energy, connecting countries with power lines and creating market rules for renewable power trade.
