YouTube Adds Hide Button to Remove End Screens
YouTube has introduced a new feature allowing viewers to hide those annoying end screens that pop up at the end of videos.
These end screens, used by creators to promote their channels, can now be hidden with a simple button.
The "Hide" button removes the end screens instantly, and a "Show" button brings them back if you change your mind.
This change comes in response to viewer requests for fewer distractions while watching videos.
Tests showed hiding end screens slightly reduced clicks, and the removal of the watermark subscribe button made little difference.
YouTube is adding a Hide button in the video player to hide end screens.
The 'Hide' button makes the end screens disappear instantly.
A 'Show' button is also available to bring back the end screens.
YouTube also removed the subscribe button on the channel watermark.
This feature was implemented based on viewer feedback requesting fewer distractions.
