eNAM 2.0 Faces Teething Troubles, Fixes Expected by Mid-January
The government launched a new version of the National Agriculture Market, called eNAM 2.0, in two states.
It's having some problems, like moving data from the old system to the new one.
The government is fixing these issues and hopes to launch it across the country by mid-January.
eNAM helps farmers and traders sell and buy things online, making the market fairer and easier to use.
Right now, it's being tested in Tamil Nadu and Rajasthan, but soon it will be available everywhere.
eNAM 2.0 launched on a pilot basis in Tamil Nadu and Rajasthan on November 4, 2024.
The new module focuses on data migration and advanced features like automated bidding and logistics integration.
Teething problems include data migration issues, leading to manual operations in some mandis.
Agriculture Secretary Devesh Chaturvedi expects these issues to be resolved by mid-January 2025.
Once successful, eNAM 2.0 will be launched nationwide, integrating over 1,000 markets across 18 states and union territories.
