Kerala HC Sees 6% Rise in Case Disposals in 2025
The Kerala High Court has improved its work by finishing more cases in 2025 compared to 2024.
They finished about 1,09,239 cases last year, which is a 6% increase.
Some judges, like Justice P V Kunhikrishnan, finished a lot of cases.
However, there are still many cases waiting to be decided, especially in civil and criminal matters.
This shows that while the court is doing better, there are still challenges like not having enough staff and too many new cases coming in.
Experts say the court needs to keep improving to make sure justice is delivered quickly and fairly.
Kerala High Court disposed of 1,09,239 cases in 2025, a 6% increase from 2024.
Justice P V Kunhikrishnan led with 15,026 cases disposed of in 2025.
2,07,081 civil cases and 50,785 criminal cases remain pending.
High pendency of cases continues to be a concern, with many pending for over a year.
Legal analysts highlight systemic challenges like understaffing and procedural complexities.
