India Opens Green Forge Facility for GM Crop Research

India has opened a new science facility called Green Forge.

It will help researchers study genetically modified crops.

The facility has special rooms where scientists can change light, humidity and temperature.

This lets them imitate different climates without depending only on outdoor field tests.

Researchers can see how crops might grow in different places.

The facility may also use artificial intelligence to help with research.

Minister Jitendra Singh said India’s biotechnology economy has grown greatly.

He also described projects involving manufacturing, carbon capture, aviation fuel and agricultural waste.
