Bengaluru Vacant Plot Cleanup Deadline Ends, Notices For Noncompliant Owners

Bengaluru has many empty plots that need to be cleaned.

The deadline for owners to do this ended on Saturday.

The minister said only 20% of owners had followed the instruction.

About 80% had not yet complied.

Officials will make a list of plots that still need cleaning.

Marshals and junior health inspectors will send notices to the owners.

If owners still do not clean their plots, civic bodies can do the work.

The cost may later be collected through property taxes.
