India Plans Global Expansion of Digital Exam Framework
India’s National Testing Agency runs many important exams.
Its director said the agency first wants to make exams in India more secure and fair.
It is using computers, artificial intelligence and identity checks to stop cheating and impersonation.
Aadhaar-linked face authentication is used to verify many candidates.
Most large NTA exams are already held on computers.
NEET is still taken with paper and pen, but it may move to computers soon.
After improving its systems in India, the NTA wants to help other countries conduct exams.
The agency is especially interested in sharing ideas with BRICS countries.
Singh said countries could also learn from one another’s examination systems, including China’s Gaokao.
NTA Director General Abhishek Singh said India wants to strengthen its examination systems before sharing them internationally.
The agency is exploring AI, data analytics, biometric verification and Aadhaar-linked facial authentication to prevent fraud.
Most major NTA exams, including JEE, UGC NET, CUET and NIFT, already use computer-based testing.
NEET remains a pen-and-paper exam but is expected to move to computer-based testing soon.
Singh said the framework could eventually become a digital public good for BRICS and other international bodies.
