India’s manufacturing opportunity grows as global supply chains shift

Many companies are trying to avoid relying on only one country for their supplies.

Anant Goenka said this creates a chance for India to manufacture more goods.

He said India has strong economic conditions, improving business rules and government support.

Six promising areas include space, semiconductors, data centres, electronics, solar power and aerospace.

India hopes its space industry will reach $40–45 billion by 2030.

Semiconductor investments of about $20 billion are already committed, according to the article.

Data-centre capacity could grow from about 2 gigawatts to 10 gigawatts in five years.

Goenka also warned that companies must make decisions quickly when prices and global conditions change.
