18th Crest Gate of Tungabhadra Dam Installed
The Tungabhadra Dam, which is very old (70 years), has 33 gates at the top that help control the water.
One of these gates got washed away a while ago, so experts decided to replace all of them.
A company was hired to do this job for about ₹52 crore.
Recently, the 18th gate was successfully installed without any problems.
The team working on this includes 65 experts and engineers.
They plan to finish replacing all the gates by next June.
The dam is important because it provides water for farming and drinking in parts of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana.
The leaders of the region are happy with the progress so far.
The 18th crest gate of the Tungabhadra Dam has been successfully installed, part of a project to replace all 33 gates.
