India, UK Sign Trade Deal: Boosts Exports, Addresses Extremism
India and the UK made a new trade deal called CETA to make it easier to buy and sell goods.
This means many products, like fruits, vegetables, and engineering goods, will have lower or no taxes when they are traded between the two countries.
The deal is expected to help Indian farmers and businesses export more to the UK, while also giving the UK's companies better access to the Indian market.
Leaders also talked about important issues like terrorism and how to stop people from misusing democratic freedoms.
India and the UK signed a Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) to boost trade.
The CETA aims to eliminate tariffs on over 95% of agricultural products and 99% of Indian exports.
The agreement is expected to nearly double India's engineering exports to the UK by 2029-30.
India provided duty concessions to UK auto exporters on large petrol/diesel vehicles and high-priced EVs.
