One in Three Rural Telangana Students Addicted to Smartphones

A recent study by doctors from AIIMS Bibinagar found that nearly one in every three rural school students in Telangana is addicted to smartphones.

The study, which included 423 students aged 10 to 19 years, found that 32.2% of smartphone users were addicted to their devices.

Interestingly, the addiction did not significantly affect their academic performance.

The primary reasons for smartphone use were entertainment, social media, and gaming.

The study also noted that male students, those who owned personal smartphones, and those with poor sleep quality were more likely to develop smartphone addiction.

The researchers recommended school-based awareness programs to promote healthy digital habits and good sleep hygiene.
