Awarapan 2 Gets UA 16+ Certificate After 9 CBFC Edits
A new action movie called Awarapan 2 is coming soon.
It is the sequel to a popular 2007 film called Awarapan.
The movie stars Emraan Hashmi and Disha Patani.
Before a movie can be released, a special group in India checks it and decides who can watch it.
That group is called the CBFC.
The CBFC gave Awarapan 2 a UA 16+ certificate, which means younger kids need an adult with them.
But first, the makers had to change nine things.
They added warnings about drugs and child safety, changed some bad words, and made a violent scene shorter.
The final movie is 2 hours, 20 minutes and 20 seconds long.
Awarapan 2, the sequel to the 2007 cult classic Awarapan, is an upcoming action thriller starring Emraan Hashmi and Disha Patani.
The film received a UA 16+ certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) after filmmakers made nine requested changes.
Requested edits included adding drug-use and child-trafficking disclaimers, showing the title in Hindi, and adding an anti-drug static ticker during drug-consumption scenes.
Obscene words were replaced in both audio and subtitles, a violent scene in the second half was reduced by 50%, and a drug-snorting scene was edited.
The film has a final runtime of 140 minutes and 20 seconds and is directed by Nitin Kakkar, with Vishesh Bhatt producing under Vishesh Films.
