Dipke announces 'Jantar Mantar Season 2,' accuses BJP of threats
A group of young protesters in India called the Cockroach Janata Party plans to protest again.
Its leader, Abhijeet Dipke, says 'Season 2' of the famous Jantar Mantar protest will start very soon.
Earlier, the party held a big protest that lasted 37 days.
That protest ended on July 25.
It ended after a minister named Dharmendra Pradhan resigned and the party got promises on its key demands.
Now the party wanted to hold a meeting of its volunteers in Delhi.
Dipke says no one would rent them a hall, saying there was 'pressure from above.'
He claims the owners were threatened and blames the BJP party for it.
Dipke says these actions will not scare them.
Another party leader says they are starting a nationwide 'listening tour,' starting with education on Independence Day.
CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke announced that 'Season 2 of Jantar Mantar' will begin very soon, on the lines of the student agitation.
Dipke alleged that no one in Delhi would rent a hall for a CJP volunteers' meet, with owners citing 'pressure from above.'
He claimed hall owners were threatened that they would be 'hung upside down' if they allowed the CJP meeting.
Dipke accused the BJP of being behind the alleged threats, saying 'petty actions' born of fear of the country's youth would not stop the party.
CJP spokesperson Saurav Das said the next phase itself is 'Season Two,' a nationwide 'listening tour' prioritising education from Independence Day.
