AI Leads India's Operator-Founded Startups in 2025
In 2025, AI became the most popular sector for startups founded by people with lots of work experience, called operator-founders.
These startups are small companies that use new technology.
One in four of these startups is working on AI.
There are 51 AI companies out of 189 operator-founded startups.
These AI companies are mostly focused on specific areas like healthcare or finance.
Even though AI startups are the most common, they got the least funding compared to other sectors.
This shows that investors are still learning about AI startups.
Operator-founded startups got a lot more money in 2025 than in 2023.
They also got bigger amounts of money in the early stages of their growth.
This shows that investors believe in these founders.
The report says that people with work experience are good at building companies because they know how to solve problems and use money wisely.
Two experts, Nishit Garg and Neha Singh, talked about how important these founders are and how they are changing the startup world in India.
