Muslim Front Opposes Guntur Land Acquisition
The Muslim United Front (MUF) is very upset because the government wants to take some land in Guntur that belongs to Muslim religious groups.
They had a meeting and decided to tell the government not to do this.
They also want the government to show them how they are spending money meant for Muslim people.
The leaders said this is not fair and will hurt the feelings of the Muslim community.
They plan to take legal action if the government does not stop trying to take the land.
The Muslim United Front (MUF) strongly opposes the land acquisition of Guntur Anjuman lands under the Land Acquisition Act.
The MUF demands the immediate withdrawal of the preliminary notification and threatens legal action if the move is not revoked.
MUF state president Mohammed Kaleem stated that acquiring Wakf and Muslim religious institution lands is unprecedented and hurts the minority community's sentiments.
Sheikh Khalil alleged that Muslims are not receiving due priority under the present government and demanded a white paper on the expenditure of funds earmarked for Muslim welfare.
The meeting decided to submit formal objections to the collector and convene a Guntur parliamentary constituency-level meeting within a fortnight to discuss community issues.
