Ayodhya Completes Namami Gange Projects to Improve Saryu Water

Ayodhya has finished two projects to help keep the Saryu river cleaner.

One project is a sewage treatment plant that can process 33 million litres of wastewater each day.

The other project collects wastewater from city drains and sends it for treatment.

This stops untreated sewage from flowing straight into the river.

The two projects cost Rs 260 crore.

The treatment plant was approved in 2021 and began operating in 2025.

Earlier drain-interception work was completed in 2021.

These projects are part of the larger Namami Gange effort to improve river health.
