Peerless Group Makes Healthcare Its Main Near-Term Investment Focus

Peerless is a business group that works in areas including finance, real estate and healthcare.

Its leader, Jayanta Roy, said healthcare will be its biggest focus for now.

The group is investing ₹1,300 crore in healthcare and real estate.

It has already spent ₹900 crore and plans to spend the remaining ₹400 crore this financial year.

Some of the money will go toward a project in New Town, and some will buy healthcare equipment.

The group has acquired two hospitals, one in Barasat and one in Guwahati.

It also built a cancer centre at its Panchasayar hospital campus.

Peerless wants to make its hospitals work more efficiently and offer more specialised care.

Roy said the group does not immediately plan to buy or build another hospital.
