Indore Municipal Corporation Seeks Agencies for Wet-Waste Processing
Indore is a big city in India, and its local government wants to take better care of waste.
Some places, called bulk waste generators, produce a lot of wet waste, which is the mushy kind of garbage like leftover food and kitchen scraps.
The city government has asked companies and groups to apply to help process this wet waste in a clean and safe way.
Two types of helpers can apply: those who make machines that turn wet waste into compost or biogas, and those who collect the waste and carry it to special processing centers.
The city will check the machines, vehicles, and facilities carefully before choosing the helpers.
Smaller setups can handle 25 kilograms of waste each day, while bigger ones can handle more than 10 tonnes.
Chosen helpers will work with the city for two years, and the agreement can be extended if they do a good job.
This helps keep Indore cleaner and reduces pollution from waste.
Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) has invited expressions of interest to empanel agencies for scientific and environmentally friendly processing of wet waste from bulk waste generators.
Municipal Commissioner Kshitij Singhal said the initiative aims to ensure effective implementation of the Solid Waste Management Rules, 2026.
Agencies can apply under two categories: wet-waste processing equipment manufacturers/technical providers and authorised wet-waste collection and cluster processing service providers.
The EOI covers processing capacities ranging from 25 kg per day to over 10 tonnes per day.
Initial empanelment will be for two years, extendable based on performance, with no application fee or security deposit at the EOI stage.
