DGCA Plans to Fill 116 Posts Amid Growing Workload
Imagine the people who make sure airplanes are safe are short-handed.
The organization in charge, DGCA, is trying to hire 116 more people to help.
They're trying to do this by promoting people already working there and by borrowing people from other places.
They need to hire more people because they have a lot of work to do.
They tried to borrow people before, but it didn't work well because people didn't want to move without extra money.
Now, they are trying other ways, like hiring people directly through a test.
It takes a long time to hire people this way, so they are also using temporary workers to help.
DGCA plans to fill 116 posts via promotions and deputations to address workload.
The move is part of a restructuring to prepare for industry growth.
As of July 1, 2025, DGCA had 823 vacant positions, representing a 50% vacancy rate.
Deputation attempts faced challenges, with only one post filled previously.
