Thai prime minister meets security chiefs after coordinated southern attacks

Thailand’s prime minister met security leaders after many attacks in the country’s deep south.

The attacks happened in Narathiwat, Pattani and Yala.

There were 51 incidents on Saturday night.

Most involved small bombs, fires and damage to buildings or property.

A convenience store was set on fire, and a bomb damaged railway tracks.

Three civilians were hurt and were recovering.

No group officially said it carried out the attacks.

Officials and analysts often suspect the BRN, an insurgent group seeking self-rule for the three provinces.
